Connectors/crimp contacts
Small metal connecting elements for joining conductors (wires) to contacts

Crimp contacts are made in the final processing stage to shape pressed punched strips. In addition to the geometrical dimension, they are inspected for tool markings created in the bending process. Because the cross section is 20 μm to 50 μm, the level of measurement inaccuracy required is in the middle grade. The image accuracy of the crimp and the tooling are directly related to the mechanical and electrical reliability of the compressed connection, so combining optical, contact-based multisensors and optical fiber probes can test for fine bending form and surface defects.
