Cooling holes are formed at different angles relative to the blade surface, and their outlet areas have a funnel shape. The most important geometric characteristics are diameter, roundness, angle and depth of the cooling holes, as well as the remaining wall thickness from the end of a cooling hole to the opposite blade surface. With tolerances from 50 µm to 200 µm, measurement-uncertainty requirements are relatively low and measuring time is also secondary.
Funnel-shaped outlets and inclined microholes can be measured reliably even in poorly accessible interior areas by combining the Werth Fiber Probe, image processing and the 3D Patch sensor.
