As e-mobility requirements expand, the need for 100% inspection of battery cells is growing. Combining TomoScope® XS Plus, the Werth longlife transmission X-ray source and Werth contour image processing makes it possible to reliably measure geometric characteristics, including deformation of positive and negative electrode windings, in only a few seconds. Metallic particles introduced in-line during manufacture are also automatically detected within seconds, preventing short circuits and the resulting fire risk across the high-voltage storage system in advance.

This in-line CT inspection non-destructively identifies internal defects immediately after cell assembly, securing both safety and yield and accumulating quality data with short cycle times even in high-volume production.
