The location of the optical fibers in the connector and slide is required, and the requirements for measurement inaccuracies are very high. The intersection is in the range of about 5 to 10 μm, and the measurement time is of medium importance. The TomoScope® XS array, based on 3D CT, is particularly effective for measuring microscopic and inaccessible fiber locations with non-destructive precision, and can be reliably verified to the internal alignment state. Reconstructing the position and center of the fiber core from scan data can be used to assess the entire assembly state in a single scan, which is advantageous for rigorous vehicle management at a level of 5 to 10 μm.
