Plastic profile measurement programs are often pre-written using CAD data before products are produced. The most important measurement tasks besides distance, angle, and radius are wall thickness, and comparison between the entire profile and the CAD dataset. While the demand for measurement time is high, the gap is at 50 μm to 100 μm, so the demand for measurement inaccuracy is low. Because the output profile is continuously produced, consistency of one-sided form is important, and combining optical profile measurement and CAD contrast can quickly determine the entire one-sided outline.
